A little about me ....

I graduated from Bradford High school in 1981.  I attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Communications and a minor in Computer cience. After working as an aide at Rutherford school for 5 years, I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I attended Bethel College and graduated with a Master's of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Special Education in 2005. I began my teaching career back at Rutherford School as their special education teacher for grades K - 8. I have been the K - 4 inclusion teacher at Rutherford for the last four years and Kenton Elementary Schools for the last three years.

I have been married Alan Abbott, my high school sweetheart,  for over 25 years. We live in Rutherford. Alan works for Ferry-Morse Seed Company in Fulton, Kentucky, where he is a computer programmer. We have three children. Jacob, Victoria, and Madalyn. We also have two dogs, Charly and Kat, and one cat, Oreo. We attend Calvary Baptist Church just outside of Rutherford.  I am also the assistant Lady Pirate softball coach and cheer sponsor.

Jacob is married to Rachel Carroll from Dyer. They have two children, Jaxon and Chandler. They also live in Rutherford. Jacob is a graduate of UTM with a degree in Music Education. He teaches general music at Greenfield and runs the computer lab in Gleason. Rachel works at First State Bank in Kenton. 

Victoria is a Senior at the UTM. She is majoring in Integrated Studies with an emphasis in middle school math.  She is a member of SAI where she serves as "mom".

Madalyn is a eighth grader at Rutherford. She has been a cheerleader and an outfielder for the Lady Pirate softball team for the last four years.
